VII. THE NEW COVENANT: A MINISTRY OF THE SPIRIT

 

         A) 2 Cor. 3:7,8 - We must understand that, "It is the Spirit who gives life..."

 

         B) Ruach HaKodesh is the source of "every good and perfect gift from above..."

 

         C) Since Ruach HaKodesh has such pre-eminence in the New Covenant Scriptures, we must give

              heed to the logic of Rav Sha'ul in this matter - Galatians 3:2,3

 

VIII. THREE REQUIREMENTS FOR WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

         A) Faith by the Spirit - Gal. 3:11,12

 

         B) Love by the Spirit - Matt. 22:35-40; Romans 13:8

 

         C) Purity by the Spirit - Romans 6:20-22

 

IX. THE PRESENT VALUE AND USE OF THE LAW

 

        Opening Scripture for this section: 1 Tim. 1:8

 

        A) Rav Sha'ul here gives us the key - the law is good if we use it the right way living by the Spirit

             under the New Covenant.

 

        B) We need to be careful here because Sha'ul reminds us that some have strayed from the essential

             spiritual principles governing the New Covenant - 1 Tim. 1:5-7; Titus 3:9-12

 

        C) Several Vital Uses of the Law

 

        D) Principles Regarding 'Messianic Jewish' Use of the Law -

             Colossians 2:16,17; Acts 4:32,33; 1 Cor. 9:19-23; Romans 14:1-13.
